Minakshi and Deepak to lead a balanced Indian contingent in Guiyang, China from June 15–21

India has announced a powerful squad for the upcoming World Boxing Cup 2026 (Stage 2), scheduled to be held in Guiyang, China from June 15 to June 21. World No. 1 Minakshi will spearhead the women’s team, while experienced boxer Deepak will lead the men’s squad.
Strong Global Standing
India enters the competition with impressive international momentum. The country currently ranks third globally in terms of Top 10 ranked athletes, holds second position in the women’s category, and stands fourth in the men’s category. Notably, India leads the world in Top 3 ranked athletes in the women’s division, highlighting its growing dominance in elite boxing.
Women’s Squad Depth
The women’s lineup features Minakshi (51kg), Poonam (54kg), Prachi (57kg), Mahi Lama (60kg), Saneh (65kg), Gitimoni G (70kg), Sanamacha C (75kg), Naina (80kg), and Alfiya Tarannum (+80kg). The team blends experience and emerging talent across all weight categories.
Men’s Squad Balance
The men’s team includes Rishi S (50kg), Nikhil (55kg), Anmol (60kg), Abhinash Jamwal (65kg), Deepak (70kg), Malsawmtluanga (80kg), Jugnoo (85kg), Harsh Choudhary (90kg), and Sawan G (+90kg), offering strong depth across divisions.
Preparation and Outlook
The squad is currently training at the national camp, focusing on technical sharpness, fitness, and tactical execution.
