Khanak wins under-13 title. Naksh and Misha win under-11 titles

In the Reliance 4th Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament held at JMC Sports Complex (Jamnagar) here under the auspices of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association and under the initiative of Jamnagar District Table Tennis Association, top-ranked Dhairya Parmar (Ahmedabad) defeated 46-year-old Jignesh Jaiswal (Bhavnagar), the oldest and most experienced player in Gujarat table tennis, 4-2, to win the men’s title. The tournament was held at JMC Sports Complex, Jamnagar from July 24 to 26.
While 23-year-old Dhairya emerged victorious, 46-year-old Jignesh Jaiswal, a State Bank employee, entered the men’s final after many years by defeating the second and third seeded players in the tournament. 46-year-old Jignesh Jaiswal became one of the oldest players to play in the final of a state tournament.
The women’s final match was also exciting as top seeded Surti player Franaz Chipia defeated third seeded Pratha Pawar of Ahmedabad 4-3 to win her first title of the current season.
However, Pratha did not return empty-handed from Jamnagar as she won the Under-17 and Under-19 girls’ titles in which she defeated Siddhi Balsara and Charmi Trivedi respectively. Pratha is the top seed in both these categories.
Among the players who achieved doubles in the tournament was Rajkot’s Dev Bhatt, who won the Boys Under-13 and Under-15 titles. Dev Bhatt, who is yet to lose a match in the Under-13 category this year, defeated third-seeded Ansh Khamar of Ahmedabad 3-0 to win his fourth title in four tournaments, while in the Under-15 final, he defeated Dwij Bhalodia (Ahmedabad) 3-0 to win his third out of four titles in the year in this category.
In the Under-19 boys’ final, Aravalli’s top seed Janmejay Patel came from two games behind to beat Bhavnagar’s Aaliya Jani 4-2. This was his first title of the current season.
Top seed Abhilaksh Patel of Ahmedabad won the Under-17 boys title by defeating seventh seed Ved Panchal 3-0.
In Under-15, top seed Charmi Trivedi of Bhavnagar emerged victorious by defeating Daniya Godil of Surat 3-1.

Top-ranked Khanak Shah on Friday made a hat-trick of titles by winning the girls under-11 title in the Reliance 4th Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament held at JMC Sports Complex (Jamnagar) here under the auspices of Gujarat State Table Tennis Association and under the auspices of Jamnagar District Table Tennis Association. In the final, she defeated Surat’s Dhimahi Kabrawala 3-1. The tournament was held at JMC Sports Complex, Jamnagar from July 24 to 26.
12-year-old Khanak had earlier won these titles in the second and third state ranking table tennis tournaments held at Gandhidham and Anand.
In the thrilling final of the boys’ under-11 category, Ahmedabad’s and top seed Nax Patel, despite being 1-2 behind at one point, saved three match points to defeat second seed Rehansh Singhvi of Kutch 3-2 and win the title. Thus, he also won the under-11 title in the third consecutive state ranking tournament after Gandhidham and Anand.
On the other hand, in the one-sided under-11 girls’ final, top seed Misha Lakhani (Ahmedabad) defeated seventh seed Prisha Parekh 3-0.
Meanwhile, a series of upsets were seen in the pre-quarterfinals of the men’s singles. As three unseeded players eliminated the seeded players.
First, Bhavnagar’s Aal Jani defeated eighth seed Soham Bhattacharya (Ahmedabad) and then experienced Chitraksh Bhatt defeated fifth seed Riyan Dutta of Ahmedabad. He fought back from a game behind to win 3-1 against Riyan. Besides, unseeded Girish Jha of Ahmedabad defeated seventh seed Jalay Mehta of Vadodara 3-0 to enter the quarterfinals along with two other unseeded players.
