The mobile medical van, equipped with a trained team including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and drivers, will provide medical check-ups, free medicines and treatment
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has Mobile medical units prepared in collaboration with REC Foundation, Delhi for remote villages and districts of Dang, Dahod, Sabarkantha and Aravalli were inaugurated in Ahmedabad..

This service initiative has been taken to provide health services to every household in the tribal area on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
Under the guidance of Shri Ajaybhai Patel, Chairman of Gujarat Red Cross and in collaboration with REC Foundation, Delhi, it is planned to cover more than 100 patients per day through one of the mobile medical vans. Thus, a system has been created so that health services are available to more than 10,000 needy tribal people at their doorsteps in a month.
Equipped with GPRS facility, this mobile medical van will have a trained team including doctor, nurse, pharmacist and driver and will also provide free medicines and treatment to the sick and needy people in every phalia and mohalla after medical check-up.
Gujarat Red Cross Chairman Shri Ajaybhai Patel and office bearers and service personnel were present on the occasion when the Chief Minister flagged off this mobile medical van for health services in tribal areas.
Through the mobile medical van, necessary guidance for health care in tribal areas and public awareness work will also be done to prevent various diseases like cervical cancer, breast cancer, thalassemia – sickle cell.
It is worth mentioning here that the state branch of the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat under the leadership of Shri Ajaybhai Patel, Chairman of the State Branch, is running many health and humanitarian programs for social welfare and upliftment of the community.
